There are 10 operating nuclear power plants in the Russian Federation, including Rostov (formerly Volgodonskaya) with 4 VVER-1000 type reactors. Monitoring of the radiation situation in the zone of influence of the NPP is necessary not only to control the safety of this facility, but also to inform the population in order to reduce social tension.
